Meet Lawrence Pruitt

Originally from Long Island, New York, Lawrence made Georgia his first and only destination after leaving his hometown. More than 20 years later, Georgia is home—the place where he has built his career, established his business, and raised his family.

Lawrence studied at Georgia Perimeter College and Kennesaw State University. His understanding of residential construction began through hands-on light-construction experience with his family’s business. That early exposure allowed him to see how homes are assembled, how their systems work together, and how improper installation, deferred maintenance, and hidden defects can affect a property over time.

Today, Lawrence is an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector®️ and an International Code Council-certified Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector with specialized knowledge of the International Property Maintenance Code. His professional background combines nationally recognized inspection standards, property-maintenance code knowledge, continuing education, practical construction experience, and extensive fieldwork.

Since entering the industry, Lawrence has meticulously inspected more than 1,000 properties throughout Atlanta and the surrounding communities. His experience includes resale homes, newly constructed properties, pre-drywall inspections, 11-month warranty inspections, investment properties, multifamily housing, exterior systems, decks, pools, crawlspaces, and other specialized property evaluations.

Through Pro-Spec, Lawrence also provides advanced ancillary services such as sewer-scope inspections, radon testing, indoor-air-quality and mold sampling, water testing, thermal imaging, drone-assisted observations, and floor-plan documentation. Lawrence has worked with many of the region’s leading builders and has served as a preferred vendor inspector for Gwinnett County housing programs supporting qualified grant recipients. His International Property Maintenance Code credentials further position him to evaluate housing conditions using established health, safety, sanitation, and property-maintenance standards.

Education remains central to Lawrence’s mission. He has conducted numerous homebuyer seminars designed to help individuals and families better understand building science, home systems, maintenance responsibilities, and the inspection process. He believes clients should leave an inspection with more than a list of defects—they should leave with practical knowledge about how their home functions and how to protect it.
